McKenzie senior Clint Kee, who just completed his baseball career for the Rebels, has been selelcted to play in the West Tennessee High School All-Star Classic, presented by the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx, the 2A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

Kee will play for the gray team, coached by Union skipper Brent Fronabarger. They will play the black team, coach by Lambuth's John Barlowe. The game will be played June 4 at Pringles Park in Jackson. Game time is tentatively set for 6 p.m.

The plan, for the moment, is to entertain the players to a game between the Jacc and the Tennessee Smokies at 12:05. At 3:30, the players will take part in a major league-style combine. At six, the gray and black teams will square off for a nine-inning game. Admission to the game is $5.

Seniors were selected from all-district performers across West Tennessee in all classes. Kee posted a 7-4 mark this season with 92 strikeouts, an ERA of 1.50 and issued just 15 walks. He posted victories over state finalists Huntingdon and Jackson Christian School.

"Most coaches in the distirct consider Clint to be the best pitcher in 1A baseball in the state," said MHS coach Lynn Yarbrough.

Kee signed to play baseball at Bethel College last month.
