As the 2008 McKenzie Rebels are in the hunt for their own state title, they are carrying on a legacy and riding the wake left by the 2006 baseball team.
Today, as the Rebs prepare to battle JCS in substate, a new e-book is posted on mckenzierebels.com: Five Days in Murfreesboro. This e-book is a narrative recounting those exciting days of the 2006 state baseball championship.
McKenzie stunned Forrest 2-0, ending their 24-game winning streak. Readers will be taken on a journey starting with the regular season through district and regional tournaments all the way to substate and the week-long march through Murfreesboro. Included are comments from players, fans, coaches and media.
For many Rebel fans, the memory of those five magical days in Murfreesboro still brings tears to the eye and chills up the spine. They were landmark days to be sure.
