McKenzie claimed a pair of District 13A basketball victories against visiting Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tuesday, Jan. 10.
In the girls' game, Anna Comer didn't have 60 points like she did in the overtime victory last season, and Lady Rebels head coach Lance McAllister said that was just fine with him. She scored 25 as McKenzie earned a 68-38 victory.
Central got off to a good start and led 17-13 in the opening frame and trailed the Lady Rebels at the half, 25-24. McKenzie sizzled the rest of the way. A 22-6 run to start the third quarter ended any upset aspirations by Central.

In the nightcap, McKenzie broke open a close game in the first to lead 14-9, then embarked on a 17-0 run in the second and effectively put the visiting TIgers away, 67-28. The Rebels outscored Central 14-2 in the first three minutes of the third to increase their margin. McKenzie led 59-24 by quater's end.
