Shelby Tucker walked and reached second, so the Lady Rebels had runners at second and third with one out, but could not score. In the third. Washburn singled, Tucker reached on an error, but both runners were stranded.

Union City broke the ice and pushed three runs across in the bottom of the third. With one out, Brianna Johnson singled and took second on a sacrifice bunt. Gracie Laster walked, and Taylor Crittendon loaded the bases when she reached on an error. Olivia Matherly doubled to right and drove in three runs with two out. The Lady Tornadoes scored another run in its half of the fourth when Justice Pearson singled, took second on a passed ball and reached third when Kallie Worrell struck out, but had to be thrown out at first.
